Carolyn Ann Jenkins-Copeland was born December 24, 1960 in Houston, Texas. She was born to the parents of Mr.and Mrs. H. T. Jenkins. She was converted in her teen years under the ministry of Pastor Albert Louis Patterson of the Mount Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Phyllis Wheatley Senior High School in 1979. She graduated in 1984 from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina where she double majored in Health Education and Physical Education.
Upon her graduation from college she accepted a position with the Harris County Youth Village from 1985-1997 as a counselor. In the latter year of 1997 she accepted a position with The City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department where she is presently employed. Upon her entrance she served as a Recreation Supervisor and was later promoted to Facilities Manager as of present day. In 2000 Carolyn joined New Light Christian Center Church under the leadership of Bishop I.V. and Bridgett Hilliard. In 2003 Ms. Copeland became one of the original co-founders of The Virtuous Woman Circle of Friends and has been a valuable asset as a servant leader where she has offered wise counsel and once served as an armor bearer to the founder. She has the gift of giving and always avails herself when giving opportunities are presented. Ms. Copeland has a passion for prayer and has experience the miracles of God in her own life as she was healed of colon cancer in 2005 and a benign brain tumor in 2006. It is God’s healing touch as a result of the power of prayer as to why she lives today.
To God be ALL the Glory!
